How To Remove Paint From An Old Antique Bed?

The paint is pretty thick and It is an Iron bed, We need to paint it though.

    I’d rent or buy a heat gun. since iron doesn’t burn you could probably even burn it of with a blow torch. Use a putty knife and wire brush to scrape loosened paint off. You will need heavy gloves since the bed is going to get hot. Do this outside since the bruing pant will stink and could be toxic.

    I have seen power rotary tools that are suppose to work on metal, they would have a wire brush attachment.
    It is probably LEAD PAINT… which is dangerous to strip so you should wear a mask.. Do it OUTSIDE and wear Goggles to protect your eyes.

    Use a chemical paint and varnish remover. Brush it on and let it set to soften the paint. Scrape away the softened paint. You may have to do this multiple times. When most of the paint is off rub with coarse steel wool.
